New Battery All That Was Needed February 8, 2008 Leo Vincey (Los Angeles, CA USA) 88 out of 88 found this review helpful
The replacement battery makes the Swivel Sweeper more powerful than we ever remember it being originally. The key is to charge the new battery fully for no more than eight hours and then to NOT recharge it again until after it completely runs out of power. And then do not leave the recharger plugged in for more than eight hours. So we have had the new battery for over a month and only recharged it two or three times.
Before, we made the mistake of leaving the old battery plugged into the charger all the time.
Swivvel Sweeper really works October 3, 2007 P. Kelley (Quincy, MA United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is a real work-horse in our house. I have used it for the last two years to sweep the ceramic tile kitchen and hall floors and for light duty on the living room and den rugs. I literaly wore this thing out! The battery that is, and intend to buy a new battery for around $12. and probably will get another two years out of it.
The best feature is its convient size. Fits out of the way in a corner ready to be used at a moments notice. It picks up dust and dirt with ease. Spilt dog food is gone is seconds. It cleans right down into the tile grout and does a super job for such a light weight little gadget. Its dirt bin is small but no problem. I often marvel at the amount of dirt that shows up in its bin. I'll bet Ive dumped over a ton of crud into the trash compactor over these past two years.
It cleans in any direction and swivels around and under furniture. This thing is one of the "As seen on TV" that really works. My wife loves it too!
Clean under the plastic gliders before buying new batteries May 6, 2009 NoSleep2Nite4Me (Elkins Park, PA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
A few days ago my swivel sweeper (which I love) stopped working properly. I would turn it on and it would stop running after less than 5 minutes. So I thought my battery was dead and could no longer hold a charge, possibly from me overcharging it. I bought a new battery and while waiting for the battery to arrive, I googled on the web and found a site that suggested cleaning the gears and connectors under the plastic gliders of hair and other stuff that accumulated there. It took me a while to take it apart as suggested (one side at a time), clean it (a bit messy; I used an E-xacto trimmer to cut through the hair that accumulated) and put it together again BUT after cleaning, my swivel sweeper worked like new even with my old battery! I am also now using a timer with the charger to ensure I don't charge my battery for more than 6 hours. I'm still glad I ordered a new battery as I feel it will be good to have two batteries. With three german shepherd dogs, the swivel sweeper is my daily cleaner and without it, I can't even imagine what my floors and carpet (not shaggy) would be like! It is a God send with picking up the dog hair and food that falls on the floor.
Replace the battery October 5, 2009 M. Roach (Lancaster, SC) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
A great replacement battery for when the original battery just won't recharge any more. My swivel sweeper works like it's brand new.
Swivel Sweeper replacement battery February 17, 2010 George M. Beach 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Have been using this battery for a month now.
It will last approx 45 min on a full charge.
The trick is to charge it for the recommended
time period. The wall charger does not shut
down automatically. A full charge is 8 hours max.
Never leave the battery in the charger longer.
The product took about 2 weeks to arrive but
the shipping charge was low.
Overall I rate the product and seller 5 / 4
respectively
